Comeback for FlyNet®?
Lufthansa Flynet®, our on board Internet broadband service, was suspended on 31.12.2006 for the time being. The Internet service provided by Connexion by Boeing ended on 31 December and as yet there is no solution in place to continue the service. Lufthansa is, however, confident that customers will be able to make use of this service again before long and has already established contact with potential partners.
Lufthansa was the first partner worldwide for Connexion by Boeing's Internet broadband service. Lufthansa began Flynet® on board in mid-May 2004 and it was exceptionally well received by customers. With 66 out of 82 long-haul aircraft equipped, Lufthansa has the largest fleet with the fast Internet connection. Ultimately around 30,000 Internet users were active on board every month - 94% of all customers would like to use this service again.
